Corrections and Informational Updates

I am including some links to documents which have cross references from various silks and cottons, one brand to another, specific to certain of my designs issued in the last few months.  These links will take you to Google Docs, a safe environment where you can see and  download the file.

Please understand that any cross references I provide are not exact between floss companies. I have almost never seen a floss color created by one company that is exact with another company's palette.  Also remember that a solid color like DMC cannot possibly be a perfect xref to a hand-dyed variegated floss. With that in mind, I've considered each design as a whole, which colors would work nicely in another brand.  This is a work in progress and will grow over time.

Giovanni's Alphabet

Some early charts show the leafy border below that second alphabet charted in the dark green used in the top alphabet with the flowers alternating in pink and lavender.  See the little arrow pointing to the affected border.  The model was stitched with the lighter green with all pink flowers.  Newer charts issued later in 2012 have been corrected.  Either way is pretty;  floss needs are the same.

We Are One
The first charts issued suggest "1000d" Perle, but also states size 12.  
The key should say "600d" Perle, which is equivalent to size 12

Sampling in Scarlets
In the color key, Red Jasper is #180 not #140.  Corrected key is below.

"Peek-A-Boo" was published in the Sept/Oct Just Cross Stitch magazine. as sometimes happens when publications hurry to meet a deadline, some parts were missing. The chart section  for the legs on the little girl in the design were not in the magazine.  Just Cross Stitch has posted a correction on their site, but that link no longer works, so I've posted a more detailed file.   Panoply of Peacocks

Back and straight stitches:  There are two letter “P”s which have no indication as to color to be used.  These two which appear in Section 3 are to be done in 3765 DMC on the the large P; 924 for the small one. 
 If you are using Crescent floss, the translation is in the key on the chart.

All other back stitching  is done in the same floss color as the stitches for the motif itself.  For example, this motif in violet is all the same color, whether cross stitches and back stitch.  If you want to use a contrasting that's your choice. The finished work is yours to personalize as you wish.  
 In certain areas you can easily identify on your chart, the symbol that appears as an inverted Trident - should be used for Crescent Cotton either Amber Waves or Creeping Jenny; for CC silks, Lily Pad is suggestion.  If using DMC, suggested is 833 Golden Olive

CREATION -  I stitched Creation long before I charted it.  There are some slight changes in the chart versus the actual work.   You can read about that in the information link below, which will take you to Google Docs where you can download the entire file.  Newer versions of Creation's chart sold since May 2010 have all of this information included.   Download additional info:  CREATION - additional information 
On Creation charts purchased after April 2010 and before May 31, 2010 section -11 may have been omitted on your chart.  You can download it here.
